Jalisco, Colima, Guanajuato, and Michoacán team up for security

In a meeting with state leaders from the western region of the country, the governor of Jalisco, Pablo Lemus, called on his counterparts to close ranks on security matters.

Before representatives from Colima, Guanajuato, Michoacán, the Fifth Military Region, the XV Military Zone, and the National Guard, Lemus stated that Jalisco remains committed to strengthening surveillance along the borders with neighboring states; he urged coordination between neighboring states in the implementation of public policies.

He also listed under his administration the dismantling of a car theft gang in Lagos de Moreno, the seizure of an arsenal in Villa Hidalgo, and the seizure of weapons and drugs in Teocaltiche.

This dialogue took place at the facilities of the XV Military Zone, in the municipality of Zapopan, and was attended by Indira Vizcaíno Silva, governor of Colima; Libia Dennise García Muñoz Ledo, Governor of Guanajuato; and Carlos Torres Piña, Secretary General of the Government of Michoacán; and the security working teams of these entities.

Also present were Major General Miguel Ángel Hernández Martínez, Commander of the Fifth Military Region; Brigadier General Julio César Islas Sánchez, Commander of the XV Military Zone; and Brigadier General Oswaldo Iván Galicia, Coordinator of the National Guard in Jalisco.
