But this year we’ll have one more reason to visit this Colima town, as it will host the first edition of the “Comal de Fuego” festival, a celebration of traditional Mexican cuisine. Prepare your stomach, because Comala’s Main Garden will be the meeting point for lovers of good food.

What to expect from the Comal de Fuego Festival?

Be aware that there won’t be any ordinary dishes. “Comal de Fuego” will bring together 28 traditional cooks from all over Mexico, who will share their best recipes and pamper attendees with a journey of flavors that reflects the culinary richness of our country. In addition, there will also be options for those looking to learn about or further explore the cuisine of the “White Town of America” ​​(as Comala is known), such as pork tatemado, sopitos, sweet enchiladas, and fruit punches, which have made this Pueblo Mágico a culinary landmark.

Over two days, the Comal de Fuego Festival will show attendees what Mexico is made of, through its flavors, culture, art, and music, with mariachi performances, folkloric ballet, and other cultural activities. For discerning eaters, there will also be a three-course dinner pairing accompanied by regional craft beer. Additionally, you can participate in lectures on traditional cuisine, sustainable production, and gastronomic tourism. Of course, you can’t leave the event without trying or taking home some artisanal products such as cheeses, coffee, and traditional sweets.
