In an interview with this media outlet, Orendáin De Obeso discussed the plans underway for the fairgrounds and explained that his main objective at this time is to carry out an organizational transition.

He acknowledged that the current president, Luis Isaías Salazar Ramírez, has done an excellent job leading the institution, and he will therefore seek to continue the projects announced during his administration.

“Major projects have been completed, major events have been held, and infrastructure issues have been updated. So, the idea is to continue these major projects,” he commented.

Among the plans on the agenda are the expansion of Expo Guadalajara and the construction of pedestrian bridges.

“I believe the Expo is in a process of migration and expansion into the future. The Expo is at its peak, so we must consolidate this transformation it has undergone and maintain this leadership in Latin America,” said the current board member of the Guadalajara Chamber of Commerce.

According to the Expo Guadalajara report, 24 infrastructure and maintenance projects were completed last year with an investment of 90 million pesos.

Additionally, plans were announced to complete the construction of three pedestrian bridges located around the fairgrounds.

The investment in this infrastructure will be between 100 and 120 million pesos, and work is expected to begin as soon as possible, as all that is required is to complete the paperwork and obtain permits from municipal authorities.

The architectural design of the first phase project was carried out by the Echauri Morales firm. The investment in the bridges will be made by the hotels, and the investment in the floor will be made by Expo Guadalajara.

The main areas of work for the next leader of this important venue include governance and best practices, infrastructure upgrades, new exhibits, sustainability, and human capital development.

Last year, Expo Guadalajara set a record in economic revenue, exhibitors, and visitors, according to a report by current president Luis Isaías Salazar Ramírez.
