Holy Week 2025: Keep this in mind! Toll booth costs for Acapulco, Morelos, and Veracruz

Holy Week is one of the most anticipated vacation periods in Mexico, and in 2025 it’s practically right around the corner! The Ministry of Public Education (SEP) indicates in the school calendar that, for elementary school students, it will be extended from April 14 to 25.

This means that there will be 16 days off, including weekends; that is, after Holy Week, there will be an additional one. Therefore, we remind you of the Holy Days so you can plan your vacation:

Palm Sunday: April 13.
Holy Thursday: April 17.
Good Friday: April 18.
Holy Saturday: April 19.
Easter Sunday: April 20.

During this period, destinations such as Acapulco, Morelos, and Veracruz are very busy, so here are the toll costs for traveling from Mexico City.

Tollbooth Cost: Mexico City-Acapulco

This route involves passing through several tollbooths, with the following costs:

Tlalpan Tollbooth: $149 pesos.
Alpuyeca Tollbooth: $95 pesos.
Paso Morelos Tollbooth: $200 pesos.
Palo Blanco Tollbooth: $182 pesos.
La Venta Tollbooth: $163 pesos.

You would have to pay $789 pesos for the trip or $1,578 pesos for the round trip.

Tollbooth Cost: Mexico City-Morelos
The Mexico-Cuernavaca Highway is used, where the Tlalpan tollbooth costs $149 pesos.

Tollbooth Cost: Mexico City-Veracruz
Tecolutla is one of the closest beaches to Mexico City:

Ecatepec Tollbooth: $110 pesos.
Asunción Toll Booth: $46 pesos.
Nuevo Necaxa Toll Booth: $35 pesos.
Miahuapan Toll Booth: $191 pesos.
Totomoxtle Toll Booth: $57 pesos.
The total cost one way is $439 pesos and $878 pesos for the round trip.

En la justificación de los nuevos servicios de Capufe que están por publicarse en el DOF se detalla que el Decreto que actualmente rige y norma su actuar es limitado “por lo que es evidente la necesidad de generar las adecuaciones normativas que modifiquen la organización y amplíen las facultades”.
