The 18 municipalities and the Government of Querétaro signed an agreement prohibiting public and private events that promote the glorification of crime, including fairs, palenques, and private parties, reported Secretary of Government Carlos Alcaráz.
“What was agreed at this time is that we will be working to ensure that all the groups, all events of this nature, that are massive, have coordination and a single criterion.”
“Above all, no business, no group, no artist will be above the tranquility of the people of Querétaro,” he stated.
He also added that these artists will also not be able to perform at the Livestock Fair or the palenque during the month of December, where artists of this musical genre traditionally perform.
“Above all, we must ensure that Querétaro remains a benchmark in terms of hospitality, and that this does not contravene the nature of the events or the celebrations that are held there on a permanent basis,” he indicated. The Secretary of Government also emphasized that the agreement became necessary after discovering that some fairs included the participation of groups that perform songs that promote the apology of crime.
In fact, in less than a week, concerts by Los Alegres del Barranco and two performances by El Komander were canceled.
