By sea, land, and air, municipal, state, and federal forces in Veracruz launched a special Easter security operation.
With more than 800 official vehicles and over 4,000 personnel from various emergency and police forces, security will be provided throughout Veracruz, but especially in 73 municipalities that offer tourism services, 29 coastal municipalities, and the most visited beaches.
Governor Rocío Nahle García gave the starting signal for the contingents that will seek to maintain order for the thousands of visitors arriving in the state, the vast majority of whom will be visiting the beaches of Veracruz, Boca del Río, Alvarado, Tuxpan, Tecolutla, Coatzacoalcos, and Costa Esmeralda.
“We want them to enjoy our beaches, rivers, culture, and cuisine, but above all, to have a safe and memorable vacation. Veracruz is in fashion because its people make it possible,” said the governor.
He emphasized that Veracruz is ready to welcome millions of visitors safely, warmly, and responsibly, as part of the Safe Vacations strategy, starting today and continuing through Sunday the 20th.
The operation will include three helicopters, ambulances, boats, tanker trucks, and jet skis.
Each season, the six beaches in Boca del Río and the four in the Veracruz metropolitan area of the port receive the highest number of tourists. The port of Tuxpan, located four hours from Mexico City, Tecolutla, and the port of Coatzacoalcos also receive the highest number of tourists.
The Secretary of Civil Protection, Guadalupe Osorno Maldonado, urged the population to check the condition of their homes before leaving, verify the condition of their vehicles, drive with caution, and refrain from consuming alcohol if driving or entering the water.
