With an investment of 78 million pesos, the Tim Hortons franchise announced its expansion in the state with the opening of six new branches in the city of Durango, to be developed over a two-year period. This was announced by the company’s Expansion and Development Manager, Erik Mijares, who stated that between 12 and 14 direct jobs will be created per branch, in addition to those generated indirectly, as the intention is to acquire local suppliers.
Originally Canadian, Tim Hortons is a chain with an international presence, a leader in coffee shops and fast food. It currently has four branches in the Comarca Lagunera, in the municipalities of Gómez Palacio. The company intends to expand its operations in the north of the country and have 42 branches within the next four years.

Owners of other franchises already established in the state, the company is familiar with the Durango market and is aware of the needs of local consumers, so the idea is to offer new consumption options in order to contribute to the economic and employment development of the region.
Starbucks and Cafenio are its direct competitors, however, for the Tim Hortons Expansion and Development Manager, the quality of the products is proven, as it has freshly cooked bakery products, which already guarantees consumers that they are getting fresh food every day.

“We are in a totally competitive range, and the quality of service and what we offer them above all else is the experience and quality products,” he commented.
The brand’s success is proven, as in just five years, 100 branches were opened in cities such as Monterrey, Querétaro, Mexico City, and Torreón; however, the company is seeking to open another 200 branches within the next five years.
