Californians will be able to experience firsthand the tourism offerings and the transportation, lodging, packages, and services options for each destination, supported by videos, photographs, screenings, and promotional materials, among other items.
The Secretary of Tourism of the Government of Mexico, Josefina Rodríguez Zamora, and the Consul General of Mexico in San Diego, United States, Ambassador Alicia Kerber Palma, inaugurated the first tourism promotion office, Ventana a México, in that city.
The head of the Ministry of Tourism stated that, as part of the 2025 Tourism Fair activities, the opening of this space marks the beginning of the Puntos México network, a promotional site where states have the opportunity to showcase their artistic, culinary, cultural, artisanal, and natural wealth each month.
She stated that this exhibition, located at the Consulate General of Mexico in San Diego, represents an additional channel to promote Mexico, offering personalized information to the public interested in traveling to our country, as well as providing tangible insights into the tourism offerings and options for transportation, lodging, packages, and services at each destination, supported by videos, photographs, projections, and promotional materials, among others.
Accompanied by the Director General of Tourism Diplomacy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (SRE), she explained that the first state to participate in the San Diego promotion office is the state of Oaxaca, which will be open from April 26 to May 1.
“I invite you to keep an eye on the San Diego Consulate, because starting today it will be full of life, color, crafts, and gastronomy—full of Mexico! Thank you to Oaxaca for being the host state, and thank you to all the Secretaries of Tourism, who will be with us, month after month, in this new promotional space,” she declared.
At the time, Ambassador Alicia Kerber Palma, Consul General of Mexico in San Diego, stated: “It will be a space for the ongoing promotion of Magical Towns, as well as beaches, archaeological sites, museums, and nature reserves, as well as projects such as the Mayan Train, the Felipe Ángeles International Airport (AIFA), and Mexicana Airlines, within the framework of consular diplomacy.”
For her part, Oaxaca’s Secretary of Tourism, Saymi Adriana Pineda Velasco, praised the presence of Oaxaca, “the cultural heart of Mexico,” in San Diego, thanks to the institutional work of Secretary Josefina Rodríguez Zamora and the coordinated efforts of the other state secretariats of the administration of Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo.
“Today, Oaxaca is making its presence felt through its textiles, its gastronomy, its fine mezcal, our eight cultural regions, and our Guelaguetza. Oaxaca is a land proud of its roots, and what we want to achieve is for many people to get to know our state, to come this July, the month of La Guelaguetza, and for 30 days to discover this cultural heart of Mexico,” she reiterated.
