Ensenada has it all

Wine capital, culinary destination, birthplace of off-roading, and a sea of adventure: Ensenada is presenting a unique and sensorial offering at the 2025 Tourism Fair, highlighted Andrés Martínez Bremer, president of Proturismo Ensenada.

We have a unique opportunity to share everything that Ensenada represents: its wine, its cuisine, its sea, its desert, its people,” he said.

He expressed.

Ensenada is recognized as the capital of Mexican wine. More than 150 wineries bring to life Mexico’s most important Wine Route, where vineyard landscapes, gourmet experiences, and unforgettable sunsets intersect.

Creative City of Gastronomy

Furthermore, it was named a Creative City of Gastronomy by the UN, thanks to a culinary scene that blends local produce with international talent, with an emphasis on seafood and regional farm products. In fact, seven of the ten most sought-after marine species by the world’s best restaurants are caught off the coast of Ensenada.

Adventure tourism also has a home here. Ensenada is the Off-Road Capital of the World, with races like the Baja 1000 and Baja 500, but it also hosts the Rosarito-Ensenada, a A binational bike ride that brings together thousands of people twice a year. And for those looking for more action, there’s the Baja Epic, one of the most comprehensive mountain bike routes on the continent.

The city has a deep history with the sea. The traditional Newport-Ensenada sailboat race, with more than 70 years of history, remains one of the largest in the Pacific. Every spring, hundreds of boats cross the border and sail into the port, placing Ensenada on the international nautical scene.

But there’s also something new. Ensenada is currently leading the creation of the first Sensory Tourism Route in Northwest Mexico, a proposal that seeks to provide tourist experiences for everyone, including people with disabilities. “We’re talking about truly inclusive tourism, where no one is left out of the experience,” explained Martínez Bremer.

Festivals are also part of the tourism DNA. In 2024, the Ensenada Carnival enjoyed a historic revival, with local, regional, and binational attendance that exceeded expectations. In addition, wine harvests, food fairs, cultural festivals, and international sporting events are held every year.

“Ensenada’s most valuable asset is its people: hardworking, hospitable, and proud of their land. You can feel that when someone visits us,” said the president of Proturismo. “We are ready to welcome everyone to this Tianguis and demonstrate why Ensenada is the tourist jewel of the Mexican Pacific,” he concluded.

The Tianguis Turístico 2025 is not just a showcase for destinations, but an open invitation to experience Ensenada in all its dimensions: from the wine and food, to the waves, the land, and the starry sky that envelops its nights. Ensenada has it all, and it’s ready to tell you all about it.
