A disturbing incident has shaken the Emana residential community in Conkal after a pack of at least 10 feral dogs brutally attacked and killed a pregnant deer on private property.
According to eyewitnesses, construction workers stumbled upon the violent scene and promptly alerted the Municipal Police. Upon arrival, officers found the canine group still surrounding the lifeless deer’s body. Despite their efforts to scare them away, the animal had already succumbed to multiple bites and scratches. A post-mortem examination revealed that the deer had been carrying two unborn fawns, which were also deceased.
Municipal Civil Protection officials subsequently arrived at the scene to manage the aftermath, including collecting the remains of the deer and its fetuses.
The incident has sent shockwaves among residents, who claim that packs of stray dogs have been a persistent issue in the area without adequate measures being taken by authorities to address the problem.
