The Bahamas-flagged ODYSSEY cruise ship arrived this morning at the Santa Cruz Huatulco dock from the Port of Chiapas, carrying 244 passengers and 218 crew members, with a stopover that will extend until 7:00 p.m.
The ship’s arrival was enthusiastically received by the Municipal Government, headed by Engineer Julio Cárdenas, who emphasized that these types of visits boost the local economy. An estimated economic impact of $344,181.89 pesos is expected, benefiting merchants, artisans, and tourism service providers in the region.
During their stay, visitors have scheduled activities such as tours of the bays, visits to the Copalitilla waterfalls, and tastings of traditional Oaxacan coastal cuisine, thus strengthening the destination’s tourism offering.
The ODYSSEY will continue its route to the port of Acapulco, Guerrero, consolidating Huatulco’s status as one of the key ports in the Mexican Pacific.
Municipal authorities have implemented a special operation to ensure the safety of visitors and the protection of the natural environment, with the goal of offering a safe and pleasant experience.
With each arrival, Huatulco strengthens its image as an attractive port for international cruises, contributing to sustainable tourism development and positioning the destination on the route of the world’s largest cruise ships.
