With a strong commitment to innovation, training, and attracting high-value investment, the second edition of IPC Week Guanajuato 2025 opened, consolidating its position as one of the most important gatherings for the development of the electronics and industrial sectors in Mexico.
The event, which takes place from May 13 to 16 at the Richard E. Dauch Institute for Education and Development of the IECA (AAM) in Silao, is organized by the People’s Government through the Guanajuato Ministry of Economy, the State Training Institute (IECA), and IPC Mexico. It will bring together business leaders, academics, students, public officials, and international experts in a four-day agenda that promises to mark a turning point in the state’s industrial development.
Claudia Cristina Villaseñor Aguilar, Secretary of Economy, emphasized that the state has established itself as a leading technological hub in Latin America. He emphasized that this achievement is the result of the vision of Governor Libia Dennise García Muñoz Ledo, the collaboration of the economic turbine, and Guanajuato’s ability to attract investment in key sectors such as world-class manufacturing and electronics.
For his part, Salomón Ceballos Ochoa, general director of IECA, stated that “this event is not only a platform for technological advancement, but also a message to the world: Guanajuato is ready to compete, to innovate, and to attract investment.”
IPC Week is part of the international IPC Day circuit, an initiative that promotes technology transfer, skills certification, and talent development in the electronics sector. This 2025 edition marks the second consecutive event held in Guanajuato, reaffirming the state’s leadership in the national industrial innovation agenda.
The event is aimed at representatives of governments, industry associations, educational institutions, private companies, and neighboring governments. Its objectives are to disseminate state initiatives aligned with global technological trends, foster innovation, investment, and competitiveness in the electronics sector, and boost the growth of the microcomponent industry.
One of the fundamental pillars of IPC Week 2025 is specialized training, and in this sense, IECA reaffirms its role as a strategic ally of the industry, providing certified, specialized training adaptable to the needs of each company from its 31 campuses across the state.
At a time of economic redefinition under the new United States administration, IPC Week arrives with a clear agenda: to strengthen local capacities, consolidate the state as a hub for industrial innovation, and respond with prepared talent to the new dynamics of international trade.
Unlike past editions in Ciudad Juárez and Querétaro, the event in Guanajuato has transformed into a full week of activities, becoming a global benchmark within the IPC ecosystem. The first day included a conference, panels, and networking opportunities. The following three days will focus on in-person and virtual technical training on key topics such as PCB design, PCBA electronic boards, Industry 4.0, and return on investment in training, among others.
Tuesday’s program included panels with experts such as: Cristina Villaseñor, Secretary of Economy of Guanajuato; Salomón Ceballos Ochoa, Director of IECA; Aldelmo Reyes Pablo, Undersecretary of Secondary and Higher Education; Manuel Araiza, General Director of Electrinet; Eugenio Marín, Director of FUMEC; Alejandro Hernández Fonseca, Undersecretary of Investment Attraction; Alfonso Valdés, President of INDEX Guanajuato; Héctor López Santillana, Director of Puerto Interior; Jorge Solainde, President of CANIETI Guanajuato; Lorena Villanueva, General Director of IPC México; Mauricio Yamin, Director of the AMPURE Plant; Enrique Parga, MABE Plant Director, and Ricardo Cárcamo, HR Manager at GENTHERM.
Among the activities, the conference “ROI or RIP: Does Your Training Add or Subtract?” stood out. This focused analysis of the return on investment in human capital development as a pillar of competitiveness was led by Carlos Plaza, Senior Director of Education at IPC International.
With strategic vision, coordinated work, and a focus on talent, Guanajuato is consolidating its position as a benchmark in the industry of the future.
