A flower shop in the Jacarandas neighborhood was robbed on May 10th, just as the city was celebrating Mother’s Day. The violent robbery has left the business owner shaken and with significant financial losses.

According to police reports, an armed man entered “Florería Venaty” at 998 Santa Rosa Street between Margarita Street, brandishing a handgun and demanding cash from the store owner. At gunpoint, the suspect stole all the money generated from the day’s sales, which is believed to be a substantial amount due to the shop being one of the busiest on Mother’s Day.

The victim described the assailant as a man of medium height with a thin build and dark complexion. He was wearing jeans, a black and white checkered long-sleeved shirt, a black cap, and dark glasses, which helped him remain anonymous.

After committing the robbery, the suspect fled down Margarita Street in an unknown direction. Witnesses reported that the victim’s husband attempted to follow the offender but unfortunately, no arrests have been made so far.

The Municipal Police responded promptly to the scene, providing support to the business owner and advising her on how to file a complaint with the State Attorney General’s Office. However, the exact amount stolen is still unknown as investigators continue to gather evidence.

This brazen robbery highlights the need for increased security measures in Mazatlán’s commercial districts, particularly during peak holiday seasons. Authorities are urging anyone with information about the suspect or the crime to come forward and assist in bringing the perpetrator to justice.
