The 25th edition of the Copa Mazatlán, a children’s soccer tournament held from April 30 to May 11, 2025, attracted 10,800 attendees, including 3,800 players from 250 teams from Mexico and the United States.

Organized by Massportmx, the event generated an estimated 52 million pesos in Mazatlán, driven by road tourism and activities in various sectors such as lodging, restaurants, and entertainment.

The Copa Mazatlán is a children’s and youth soccer tournament held annually in Mazatlán, Sinaloa, Mexico.

It is considered one of the most important sporting events of its kind in the country, recognized for its high competition and organization.

The tournament brings together hundreds of teams from different Mexican states such as Nuevo León, Durango, Sonora, Jalisco, Baja California, Baja California Sur, Coahuila, and Nayarit, and even from abroad, with teams from Anaheim, California, United States.

The game is played in different formats, including 7-a-side football, 9-a-side football, and 11-a-side football, depending on the category and edition.

Matches are played on various fields and sports facilities in Mazatlán, such as the Benito Juárez Sports Complex, the Kraken Stadium (El Encanto), and other local fields.

Champions in certain categories, such as the U-15 men’s and women’s teams, can earn passes to national tournaments such as the Copa G Champion of Champions in Guadalajara, with the possibility of representing Mexico in international events, such as the Champions League final at Wembley.
