The new United States ambassador to Mexico, Ronald Johnson, arrived in the country this Thursday to begin his diplomatic mission.
Through social media, the head of the North American Unit of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Roberto Velasco Álvarez, reported that, representing Foreign Minister Juan Ramón De la Fuente, he received US ambassador Ronald Johnson.
“I welcomed him to our country and reiterated the Mexican government’s interest in strengthening dialogue and cooperation with respect for our sovereignty.”
The US Embassy in Mexico shared a photograph showing Ronald Johnson’s arrival.
This Thursday, President Claudia Sheinbaum will receive the new ambassador Ronald Johnson at the National Palace next Monday, where he will present his credentials along with other diplomatic representatives from various countries.
“It won’t be a very long meeting; it will be a short one. It will be about conversation, about the coordination, collaboration, and relationship that we believe should exist between trading partners, neighbors, and friendly countries,” the president noted.
