Three alleged members of the Sinaloa cartel are arrested in Oaxaca.

Officers from the Mexican Navy (Semar) arrested three members of a Sinaloa cartel cell operating in the Ixtepec region of Oaxaca, identified as Los CabreraMZ.

One of those arrested claimed to be a lieutenant in the Naval Justice Service. Government sources indicated that he was an active member of the Semar until 2022 and was identified as Armando N. In response, the naval institution reiterated its unwavering commitment to legality and the rule of law, and emphasized that it maintains a zero-tolerance policy toward any conduct, regardless of rank or position.

The other detainees were identified as Leonel C, Commander 85, and Fidel M, El M4.

In another development, the Special Prosecutor’s Office for Organized Crime obtained a case against Iván Fernando Zepeda Leyva, known as El 4-40, considered the operator of Ismael Mayo Zambada’s faction in Sonora.
