Armed clashes shake the border area between Zacatecas, Aguascalientes, and Jalisco.

Agents from the Zacatecas State Attorney General’s Office (FGE) were shot by a group of heavily armed men from Aguascalientes, which led to a fierce confrontation in the town of Los Campos, municipality of Villa García.
The incident prompted an intense police mobilization that led to the capture of two of the attackers, who are currently under investigation by agents from the Zacatecas FGE.
The events occurred this Wednesday at approximately 10:40 a.m., when members of the FGE and the Zacatecas Immediate Reaction Force (FRIZ) of the State Preventive Police were conducting an investigation in the town of Los Campos, municipality of Villa García, an area bordering the municipalities of Asientos, Aguascalientes, and Ojuelos, Jalisco.
Suddenly, the officers encountered three pickup trucks from the town of Molinos, Asientos, Aguascalientes, carrying around 10 heavily armed individuals. They opened fire on the investigative agents and Zacatecas state police officers.
The confrontation lasted several minutes, with no injuries or deaths reported.
In support of the Zacatecas officers, Aguascalientes state police officers from the Special Operations Group arrived, along with two helicopters armed with artillery: one from the Zacatecas State Public Security Secretariat and another from the National Guard.
During the operation, two men were arrested, and long weapons, tactical equipment, and a pickup truck were seized.
Despite the extensive police presence, the remaining attackers managed to escape to the municipalities of Pinos, Ojocaliente, and Luis Moya, in the state of Zacatecas.
