The El Encanto BioParc, located in Mazatlán, will be the new reserve that will house more than 700 species of animals rescued through various initiatives in Sinaloa, from the Ostok Sanctuary in Culiacán.
Raúl Ricardo Villavicencio, CEO of Encanto Desarrollos, reported that the project has an investment of 1.2 billion pesos and will focus on a sanctuary dedicated to the protection of wildlife rescued from captivity, abandonment, exploitation, or at-risk situations. It will also include multiple tourist and recreational amenities that will benefit both the state and the port.
“This is a project that will bring benefits not only to El Encanto, but also to the towns and municipalities surrounding the biopark, such as El Quelite, Los Zapotes, El Recreo, La Noria, and the city of Mazatlán, attracting greater tourism, investment, and visitors,” he explained.
The CEO emphasized that this is a large-scale initiative for the region and the entire continent.
“This project will undoubtedly be the most important project in all of Latin America. It will strengthen confidence in our municipality of Mazatlán and in Sinaloa,” reaffirmed Raúl Villavicencio, while thanking Governor Rubén Rocha Moya and Mayor Estrella Palacios, as well as the authorities, for the assistance provided for the construction of this wildlife sanctuary.
BioParc El Encanto is owned by Encanto Desarrollos and covers an area of 300 hectares. In addition to being a natural sanctuary, the park will offer a safari-style experience, making it a new recreational option for visitors to Mazatlán.
This wildlife reserve will open in August and is aimed at all nature lovers.
