Merida residents and national and international tourists still face daily risks on the streets of downtown Mérida due to the lack of synchronization of several pedestrian traffic lights, as pedestrians are allowed to cross even when the traffic light is green.
A tour of the first section revealed that some of these traffic lights are inoperable; that is, they are not working and are turned off.
