Due to “bad weather,” the Island Princess cruise ship, which was scheduled to arrive in Puerto Chiapas this Friday, has suspended its arrival, authorities reported.
Everything was said to be ready for the reception of one of Princess Cruises’ iconic vessels, but due to safety concerns caused by strong waves and winds, the cruise ship was canceled.
The 294-meter-long (length) and 32.2-meter-wide (width) cruise ship has a capacity of 2,200 passengers and 900 crew members, and would be arriving in Puerto Chiapas for the first time.
Therefore, the state’s tourism authorities had prepared a reception with representatives from the state and the municipality of Mazatán, along with their traditions and culture.
