Mexico has taken an important step in inclusive sports after it was officially announced that Mexico City won the title of host of the 2027 North America Rugby Cup (NORAM).
After the 2025 edition concluded this weekend in Boston, United States, where Mexico City participated with the Spicy Rugby Querétaro team, it was announced that Mexico City will host this gay and inclusive tournament, which takes place every two years.
Mexico City won the title after competing with Washington, and the National Association of LGBTQ+ Sports (ANADE) extended its gratitude to the National Commission for Physical Culture and Sports (CONADE) for its support.
The NORAM Cup is the largest rugby union tournament in North America, serving as a space where all people, regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity, can enjoy the sport and contribute to a positive and inclusive rugby culture.
This competition will celebrate its third edition and, for the first time in its history, will be held outside the United States.
