The Strawberry Moon of 2025 will be visible in Mexico, so we’re telling you all the details about this astronomical phenomenon, as well as the exact day and time you can appreciate this natural spectacle. Take note.

According to specialists from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), the Pink Moon is associated with the Algonquin culture, a Native American people. This community lived from Virginia to the Rocky Mountains and north of Hudson Bay.

Now, to understand this name, it’s important to remember that the calendar is based on the cycles of the four seasons; however, in the US, there are some differences due to marked climatic changes. Therefore, the Moon completes its phase cycle every 29 and a half days, therefore, there is a Full Moon every month.

On rare occasions, this astronomical phenomenon occurs twice in the same month. The second Full Moon is known as the Blue Moon.

So, the Algonquins identified the satellite with different names according to each significant date. Among the most notable are:

June: Strawberry Moon (it was the strawberry harvest season)
July: Goat Moon
August: Sturgeon Moon
September: Harvest Moon
October: Hunter’s Moon
