PAN Senator Lilly Téllez announced that she will file complaints against Morena members Karina Ruiz and Malú Mícher for attacking her with scissors; she will also request a restraining order.
In an interview, she accused Ruiz and Mícher of attacking her with scissors during last Wednesday’s Permanent Commission session, when she protested with a megaphone the swearing-in of Juan Antonio Ferrer, former director of INSABI, as Mexico’s permanent representative to UNESCO.
She described the act as “violent.”
“I’m going to sue Malú Micher and Senator Karina Ruiz because there’s a video of Senator Malú Micher giving her the scissors, or giving her the order. It’s on video, so Senator Karina came by and put the scissors in front of my face. It’s a sharp weapon, in a very delicate moment. Scissors in front of my face is very dangerous. So of course I’m going to report them. I hope the authorities dare to do justice properly.
“I need a restraining order because Malú Micher and Karina are extremely violent, as demonstrated in the videos,” she stated.
In the midst of a tense session of the Permanent Commission last Wednesday, Senator Lilly Téllez tried to prevent Juan Antonio Ferrer Aguilar from being sworn in as Mexico’s ambassador to UNESCO.
With a megaphone in hand, Téllez shouted slogans against the former director of the Institute of Health for Well-being (INSABI), shouting: “Ferrer!” Corrupt, you’re going to run!”
However, her protest was interrupted when Morena Senator Karina Ruiz approached to cut the cable, forcing the PAN member to continue shouting.
During the incident, Lilly Téllez also verbally confronted Labor Party Representative Lilia Aguilar Gil and PT Senator Yeidckol Polevnsky, and approached Gerardo Fernández Noroña, president of the Permanent Commission, to be closer to the new ambassador.
