A serious accident involving a tractor-trailer truck and an LP gas tanker truck caused the closure of the Puebla–Orizaba Highway for several hours, at kilometer 149, on the Acatzingo–Amozoc stretch.

The incident occurred when the truck driver, allegedly asleep at the wheel, lost control and crashed into the center wall of the road. After the collision, the gas tanker collided with the trailer’s trailer, worsening the situation.

The collision caused lanes to be closed in both directions, creating lines of stranded vehicles between 5 and 8 kilometers long, affecting hundreds of motorists.

Federal Highways and Bridges (Capufe) personnel responded to provide medical attention to those involved, although the condition of the truck driver is currently unknown.

The National Guard Highway Division was informed of the accident and worked in the area until 1:00 p.m. to clear the road and restore traffic.
