Just days before the official start of the summer vacation season, projections for Mazatlán are positive. This weekend, hotels reached 80 percent occupancy.
The president of the local National Chamber of Commerce, Francis Cázarez Oliveros, stated that hotel occupancy levels have reached 80 percent over the past two weekends, and the same trend will continue for the next one.
“The lowest season is the third week, but I think that week will fill up as the days get closer, and I think we’ll have better expectations for that week because the vacation season officially begins,” she commented.
Cázarez Oliveros noted that Mazatlán is experiencing a good recovery in tourism, especially after difficult periods in previous months.
She added that the road infrastructure is in good condition, with no recent reports of damage that could hinder tourist arrivals.
“Regarding road safety, it’s fine for now, but it must be guaranteed so people can visit the towns of La Noria and El Quelite,” he said.
He also announced that the official launch of the summer security operation will take place on July 11th, with additional personnel on roads and tourist areas, ensuring visitors feel safe and well-served.
