The president of the Tres Islas Hotel Association, José Ramón Manguart Sánchez, emphasized that 88 percent of tourists arriving at the destination do so by road.
“The destination is in the process of regaining the confidence of travelers arriving by road, hence the importance of keeping them safe,” he insisted.
He emphasized that road tourism continues to be Mazatlán’s strong suit, as arrivals by air remain within normal levels.
He noted that given the circumstances in Sinaloa, they expect an operational deployment by police forces similar to that implemented during the last Carnival and Holy Week.
Manguart Sánchez reiterated that hotel occupancy expectations for the upcoming holiday season are 85 percent.
He expressed confidence that Mazatlán will be considered to host upcoming large-scale events, continuing the current momentum of raising weekend occupancy in Mazatlán from 45 percent to 80 percent.
