The upcoming 2025-2026 winter season will be launched earlier in Mazatlán, as Canadian airlines will move their flights to the end of September.

Secretary of Tourism Mireya Sosa Osuna mentioned that winter season airlines typically launch their routes in late October and early November; however, this move by WestJet marks a good season.

“This season, WestJet has just announced, and we have been informing them, and we have been working with them, that they will be moving their routes forward this winter. So, instead of flying in late October or November, they will start flying in late September,” she said.

Sosa Osuna indicated that a delegation composed of Ministry of Tourism (Sectur) and hoteliers will launch a promotional campaign across Canada this Monday to intensify their promotion.

“On Monday, we’re going to Canada on a tourism promotion tour. This season, we’re going to move routes forward to the winter, since instead of Canadian tourists flying in late October and November, they’ll start flying in late September, so we’re going to step up our promotion,” he noted.

During the peak season for foreign tourists, the airlines that have routes to Mazatlán are American Airlines, United, Alaska, WetJet, Sunwing, Suncountry Airlines, and Delta, with flights from the United States and Canada.
