A man from San Miguel de Allende, Guanajuato, and his wife were found dead after being missing during the tragic floods that occurred last weekend in the state of Texas, United States.

However, the couple’s youngest son, a 2-year-old boy, has not yet been located.

The only one who managed to survive the floods was the man’s oldest son.

According to reports, Leonardo Romero, 43, originally from San Miguel de Allende, disappeared along with his wife, Natalia Venzor, 24, and their 2-year-old son, Carlos Jaime, after the flash floods in Kerrville, Texas.

This family’s home was swept away by the Guadalupe River, with no one able to help its inhabitants.

On the day of the flood, Leonardo Romero’s eldest son, Leonardo Jr., 19, was visiting his father’s house.

Leonardo Jr. was the only one located hours after the flood and rescued from the rubble. He was hospitalized, where he is reported to be out of danger.

In recent hours, family members confirmed that Leonardo Romero and his wife, Natalia Venzor, were found dead after a week of intense search efforts.

Gustavo Romero, Leonardo’s brother, posted the news on social media about his relative’s whereabouts.

“We want to share that we have found the body of our brother Leonardo. It is a consolation for our family,” he said.

Meanwhile, Jennifer de la Rosa, close to the Venzor family, posted on social media that Natalia’s body had also been located.

“Natalia has also been found. Please continue praying for the search for Carlos (…) pray for strength for the Romero and Venzor family during this difficult time,” Jennifer de la Rosa wrote on her Facebook account.

Family members confirmed that the only one who has not been located is little Carlos Jaime.

Leonardo Romero was originally from the community of Los Rodríguez, part of the municipality of San Miguel de Allende, Guanajuato.

Leonardo immigrated to the United States more than 20 years ago in pursuit of the “American dream.” He has since settled in the neighboring country.

There, he married Natalia Venzor and they had little Carlos Jaime. The family obtained U.S. citizenship.
