The Mexico City Tourism Secretariat (SecturCDMX) denied that the woman who confronted YouTuber Luisito Comunica, calling him “a fucking fool (for supposedly defending gringos),” while he was reflecting on the damage caused to establishments during the anti-gentrification march, is an employee of the agency.

This happened after the influencer recognized the woman’s badge during the confrontation and asked her, “How are you going to protest against the entire movement if you work for Sectur?”

“We categorically deny that the aforementioned person is an employee of Sectur CDMX. We also absolutely reject any expression of hate, racism, or xenophobia,” the agency said in a statement.

Last Friday, during the first anti-gentrification march, members of the black bloc threw stones and damaged furniture at restaurants, apartments, and monuments located in the Roma, Condesa, and Doctores neighborhoods.

A day later, while Luisito Comunica was recording a video questioning the destruction in front of the Ripndip store, a woman—who was identified by the YouTuber as a Sectur worker—approached him and insulted him, pointing out, “So you’re defending gringos?”
