In her post, Davis highlighted the potential of Mexican stories and the value of this investment for promoting local talent. According to the official statement from the Presidency of the Republic, Netflix will invest $1 billion between 2025 and 2028 with the goal of producing approximately 20 series and films per year.

The company also announced that it will continue to promote development programs for Mexican creators and will collaborate on improving the facilities at Churubusco Studios, one of the most emblematic spaces for national cinema.

The news was officially presented during the morning press conference on February 20, led by President Claudia Sheinbaum, who emphasized that this investment recognizes the quality of Mexican talent and its creative capacity. She also affirmed that the audiovisual industry creates jobs, boosts tourism, and contributes to the country’s economic development.

Netflix CEO Ted Sarandos noted that the company shares the vision of a prosperous and creative Mexico and expressed interest in collaborating with the Mexican government to facilitate the growth of the audiovisual sector.

He also highlighted his history of collaboration with Mexico, which began a decade ago with the series Club de Cuervos and has continued with productions such as Alfonso Cuarón’s Roma and Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio. He also highlighted that he has worked in more than 50 locations within the country and has collaborated with multiple Mexican professionals and creative communities.
