Citizens recognize progress, closeness, and concrete results in Durango
Governor Esteban Villegas Villarreal ranks second best in the country, according to the results of the national survey published by FactoMétrica in July 2025. The study, which measures citizen perceptions of the performance of the country’s 32 governors, positions Durango as a national benchmark for good governance.
In terms of overall approval, the Durango governor obtained 68.1%, placing him in second place in the national ranking, above his counterparts in states such as Jalisco, Mexico City, and Puebla.
Villegas Villarreal stands out especially in the fight against insecurity, where he ranks second nationally, with a 57.2% citizen approval rating, the result of a comprehensive security strategy that has maintained low crime rates and an atmosphere of social peace in the state.
Furthermore, in transparency and the fight against corruption, Esteban also ranks second nationally, with 52.9% citizen support, reflecting his approachable, honest, and accountable administration.
These results consolidate citizen recognition of the work of the State Government and confirm that Durango is governed with responsibility, results, and a vision for the future.
