During the month of July, especially on the highways leading to the metropolitan areas of Tampico, Madero, and Altamira, as well as to the neighboring state of Nuevo León, the Green Angels provided nearly 400 services to road users.
“From July 1st to date, we have provided around 375 services,” reported Félix de la Cruz Rojas, the state coordinator of the Green Angels in Tamaulipas.
Regarding the highway sections where the Green Angels most frequently provide their services, he said, “They have been Victoria Zaragoza, Zaragoza González, the metropolitan area of Tampico, Altamira, Madero, as well as Ciudad Victoria toward Linares.”
The state coordinator of the Green Angels in Tamaulipas indicated that compared to previous months, road traffic has remained stable, with no notable increase.
“It’s practically the same. The number of tourists has remained the same. For example, this weekend was very busy from north to south, from the north to the Tampico Altamira Madero metropolitan area. What we’ve seen is that the flow continues during the day and into the afternoon, and last night the tourist movement decreased,” he mentioned.
Regarding the main services that have been requested from the Ángeles Verdes personnel, De la Cruz Rojas mentioned: “heating, but this is mostly due to the temperatures. Tamaulipas is a state with high temperatures, and typically on the highways, these are engine and tire warm-ups, which is what most frequently occurs, as well as bearings and accessory belts.”
Finally, when breaking down the services provided to road users, he added: “Forty percent of service calls are due to overheating, another 40 percent are due to tires, and 20 percent are due to various causes of failure, whether it’s the fuel pump, accessory belt, alternators, or those types of mechanical failures.”
