Querétaro International Airport (AIQ) transported 1,129,576 passengers in the first half of 2025, registering an annual growth of 21%, reports the Ministry of Infrastructure, Communications, and Transportation (SICT).

During the first half of this year, the AIQ exceeded one million passengers, while in the same period in 2024 it recorded 933,510 passengers, according to indicators from the Federal Civil Aviation Agency (AFAC).

Meanwhile, in the first half of 2024, the AIQ registered an annual growth of 23%, during which time both domestic and international traffic grew by double digits.

The airport’s growth during the January-June period of this year was driven by the movement of domestic travelers, which showed a double-digit increase; on the contrary, the movement of international travelers moderated.

During the first half of 2025, 801,731 domestic passengers were transported through the AIQ, representing a 29.4% increase, considering that in the same half of 2024, 619,678 domestic passengers were registered.

This increase exceeds the 10.1% annual growth in domestic passenger flow in the first half of the previous year.

Similarly, in the first half of 2025, 327,845 international passengers were registered, reflecting an increase of just 4.5%, compared to 313,832 passengers a year earlier.

In the first half of this year, the growth rate of international passenger movement slowed, given that during the same period in 2024, the number of international passengers grew by 60.3% annually.

Domestic Passengers Increase

At Querétaro Airport, the participation of domestic passengers strengthened, while the participation of international passengers decreased slightly.

From January to June, 71% were domestic passengers; this share increased by 4.6 percentage points, compared to 66.4% of the total in 2024.

Conversely, this year, international travelers represented 29% of total passengers, experiencing an annual decrease of 4.6 percentage points, compared to 33.6% of AIQ travelers in 2024.

In June alone, the airport recorded a total of 192,361 passengers, increasing by 12.2% annually, maintaining a double-digit annual growth trend during the first six months of the year.

In January, the flow of travelers increased by 29.2%, in February it increased by 18.8%, in March it increased by 26.8%, in April it increased by 21.2%, and in May it increased by 19.1%, according to reports from federal agencies.
