Electoral institutes in Yucatán and Zacatecas are on red light due to lack of resources.

Despite the budgetary challenges faced by several states in holding judicial and municipal elections, the report from the Directorate of Liaison with Local Public Electoral Bodies explained that all elections were held.

On the other hand, the states of Yucatán and Zacatecas are currently at high risk of failing to cover their operating costs for the latter part of the year.

Both states received budget increases that allowed them to hold judicial elections, but their operating expenses are compromised, especially for the end of this year.

Yucatán has already been able to pay what it owed the National Electoral Institute (INE) per single polling station, but, along with Zacatecas, they have requested budget increases from their respective governments to continue their regular operations.

This latest report provides an account of the monitoring of the 19 states that held elections to renew their judiciary last June.

El gasto impactará sobre todo para fin del presente año.
