President Claudia Sheinbaum stated in her morning press conference this Friday that her administration has no information regarding possible links between Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro and the Sinaloa Cartel, as the United States government has claimed.
This is the first time we’ve heard of this situation. “We have no evidence to support this claim,” she stated during her remarks.
The United States Department of Justice recently increased the reward for information leading to Maduro’s capture, citing him for alleged ties to criminal organizations in Mexico.
In response, Sheinbaum urged US authorities to present the relevant evidence and emphasized that there is no active investigation into the matter in Mexico.
