A man allegedly linked to the murder of a man stabbed on a public street in the Baja California neighborhood was charged with aggravated homicide by force.

According to the investigation file, on July 20, at approximately 8:39 a.m., Nicolás “N” intercepted a man who was walking in front of a home located on San Luis Potosí Avenue.

The attacker grabbed him by force by the neck, subduing him, and then injured the victim with a knife in the chest. The victim managed to flee; however, he died a few meters away from the scene.

The arrest was made when a 27-year-old woman signaled Municipal Police officers conducting surveillance, reporting that moments before, she had heard cries for help in front of her apartment.

The woman also stated that Nicolás “N” threatened to kill her for no apparent reason, just before she managed to request assistance from the patrol car that was passing by. He pointed the finger directly at the attacker, who was still on the street, and he was immediately arrested.

According to the investigation, it was possible to determine the defendant’s probable involvement in the incident under investigation, all due to conflicts between the victim and her attackers.

At the end of the hearing, the Control Judge brought the defendant to trial, imposing the precautionary measure of pretrial detention and establishing a three-month period for the completion of the complementary investigation.
