The heavy rains that fell this Tuesday, August 12, caused flooding in the underbridge of the Mexico-Querétaro Highway, near El Colorado, in El Marqués.

“The underbridge of Federal Highway 57, near El Colorado, remains closed due to flooding. Take alternate routes and drive with caution,” municipal Civil Protection announced this afternoon.

Previously, state authorities warned that the southern part of the district is closed. Therefore, they urged citizens to take precautions and stay informed through official channels.

After a few hours, the municipal government of El Marqués announced that the underbridge of the Mexico-Querétaro Highway, near El Colorado, is now open.

At the same time, they urged drivers to drive with caution. Avoid the area whenever possible and consider alternate routes.

Lane Reduction on the Mexico-Querétaro Highway

The Federal Roads and Bridges of Income and Related Services (CAPUFE) reported that lanes are being reduced from kilometer 193 to 197 of Highway 57 due to maintenance work.

If you are traveling through this area, avoid distractions while driving, obey the speed limits, and maintain a safe distance from other vehicles.
