Representative Ricardo Monreal Ávila, coordinator of the Morena Parliamentary Group

and president of the Political Coordination Board (Jucopo), described the fact that more than 13 million people have escaped poverty as “good news.”

In a message on social media, he asserted that this “is due to the beginning of the transformation process that began with President López Obrador and continued with President Claudia Sheinbaum.”

Yesterday, the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (INEGI) released a detailed analysis of the data from the 2024 National Household Income and Expenditure Survey (ENIGH), referring to multidimensional poverty.

In this regard, Monreal Ávila asserted that “no one can deny, in their right mind, that what INEGI has indicated, based on scientific research, is good news: that poverty in Mexico has been reduced by more than 13 million people: men, women, and children.”

Therefore, “only foolishness and bad faith can deny this unique advancement in the history of our country. In other words, we are on the right path, on the right path,” he concluded.
