Durango will once again host Sky Fest, a festival of aerial and cultural activities that has established itself as one of the most important in the north of the country. In its sixth edition, the event will take place on November 8 and 9, 2025, this time at a new venue: the Globo Parque Sky Fest.
Javier Mayagoitía, the festival’s organizer, explained that this year’s theme—”Fly, shine, flow, and connect”—encapsulates the experience offered to attendees: hot air balloon and blimp flights, aerial acrobatics shows, cultural activities, and adventure activities.
With an expected attendance of more than 30,000, the organizers estimate a significant economic impact, in addition to the creation of 700 direct jobs and nearly 9,000 indirect jobs. The agenda also includes inclusive activities and donations to local organizations, as part of the festival’s social commitments.
Safety protocols emphasized
One of the central themes for this edition is safety.
Mayagoitia stated that all verification and operational protocols have been reviewed and comply with the guidelines of the Federal Civil Aviation Agency. Emergency services such as Civil Protection and the Red Cross will also be present, in addition to insurance coverage for attendees and air operations.
“We have certified pilots, fully registered aircraft with current insurance, and operating manuals that we have refined with each edition. Our focus is on minimizing risks and ensuring a safe experience for everyone,” the organizer stated.
Valeria Gutiérrez, Director of Economic Development and Tourism, stated that this event is part of a strategy to expand the capital’s tourism offering. She added that a joint promotional campaign will be carried out by the state and municipal governments to increase the festival’s presence nationwide.
For her part, Elisa Haro, State Secretary of Tourism, emphasized that Sky Fest is part of a calendar of events that promote family tourism, nature, and culture. He emphasized that private sector participation is key to strengthening Durango as a tourist destination.
The call to the general public is now open. Details about activities, schedules, and logistics can be found on the festival’s official social media channels and on the website http://SkyFest.mx.
