As a result of a routine inspection, Navy personnel, in conjunction with Maritime Customs, detected merchandise declared as a “chest-type horizontal freezer,” which was to be exported on a ship.

Upon conducting the inspection with specialized equipment, personnel observed variations in the density of the images analyzed during scanning. Therefore, they conducted a visual and physical inspection, assisted by a Navy canine team and a canine sensor from the Mexican National Customs Agency (ANAM). Through this, the drug was detected, hidden in various packages made with duct tape.

The approximately 330.2 kilograms of marijuana and other seized materials were handed over to ministerial authorities for further investigation, the Navy reported.
