In terms of occupied rooms, Bahía de Banderas registered 77,917 guests in the last week of June, surpassing Puerto Vallarta, which reached 59,337. However, the city of Puerto Vallarta had 470,068 guests in total, while Bahía de Banderas recorded 296,176.
Regarding tourist arrivals, Puerto Vallarta attracted a total of 371,404 people, surpassing the 328,474 visitors recorded in Bahía de Banderas.
This suggests that Vallarta dominates the tourism sector; however, in terms of occupancy, Bahía de Banderas stood out with 72.66% in the last week of June, compared to 63.44% for Puerto Vallarta. It’s worth noting that since the beginning of the month, Bahía Blanca has shown a slight advantage in hotel occupancy, 0.69%, compared to Puerto Vallarta’s 0.63%.
In short, Puerto Vallarta attracts a greater total number of visitors, while Bahía de Banderas has better utilization of its hotel capacity, demonstrating its consolidation as a growing destination within the regional tourism sector.
