The topic of UFOs is once again making waves on social media after the presence of “strange” lights was recorded around the Popocatépetl volcano.

Early Friday morning, a video of the Popocatépetl volcano went viral, showing a series of strange objects around the crater.

As expected, this sighting has generated much doubt and interest among internet users, generating theories that they could be unidentified flying objects (UFOs).

UFOs at Popocatépetl?

On the X platform, the account “Webcams de México” shared a video showing the various objects flying around the volcano in strange ways, most of them at high speed.

This account has already recorded this type of sighting on several occasions. For this reason, X users are wondering about the possible existence of extraterrestrial life.

However, this theory can be completely ruled out, as there could be other reasons. The National Center for Disaster Prevention (CENAPRED), which is responsible for capturing and monitoring the volcano, has explained that these sightings are possible airplanes or drones that could be used for research.

However, due to the speed at which these lights travel, they could also be reflections of certain satellites, meteors, or atmospheric phenomena caused by volcanic eruptions.

UFOs in Mexico

Popocatépetl is not the only place in Mexico that evokes stories of the supposed presence of extraterrestrials and paranormal activity. One example is the famous Zone of Silence in the northern part of the country.

Located in the center of the Mapimí Basin, between the states of Coahuila, Chihuahua, and Durango, lies the area known as the Zone of Silence, whose name comes from the fame it has gained over the years, as it is said that radio waves cannot be transmitted normally in this area.

But it’s not just the communication and radio signal transmission problems that have made the Zone of Silence famous; it’s also the alleged UFO sightings that some report having witnessed in the area.
