More rain or heat for the city of Durango? This is what the weather will be like TODAY, Saturday, August 30
This Saturday, August 30, weather conditions across much of the country will be influenced by the Mexican monsoon, tropical waves, low-pressure channels, and the interaction with humid air from different oceans.
These systems will cause rainfall of varying intensity, as well as the persistence of a hot environment in several regions. Here is the forecast for Mexico and Durango.
General Forecast
According to the National Meteorological Service (SMN), the Mexican monsoon, along with a mid-level trough and atmospheric instability, will bring showers and heavy to very heavy rains to the northwest, mainly in Baja California, Baja California Sur, Sonora, Chihuahua, Durango, Sinaloa, and Nayarit.
Meanwhile, a low-pressure trough over the interior of the country, interacting with an upper-level trough and the advance of tropical wave number 27 to the west, will cause showers and heavy to very heavy rains in states in the west, northeast, center, south, and east of Mexico, with occasional heavy rains in Guerrero.
Simultaneously, tropical wave number 28, associated with a low-pressure area with the potential for cyclonic development, combined with another low-pressure trough in the southeast, will generate heavy to very heavy rains in that region and the Yucatán Peninsula, with occasional intense rainfall in Oaxaca and Chiapas.
During the afternoon, a hot to very hot environment will prevail across much of the country, with temperatures that could exceed 40 degrees Celsius in northern areas, along the Pacific coast, the Gulf of Mexico, and the Yucatán Peninsula. The heat wave will continue to affect specific areas of Jalisco, Colima, Michoacán, Guerrero, Coahuila, Nuevo León, Tamaulipas, and Oaxaca.
