According to data from the Chiapas Economic Development Agency (FEC), during June 2025, turkey meat production in the state grew by 20.6% compared to the same month in 2020, marking the largest increase in this period.
In the same month of June, egg production for consumption grew by 4.0% compared to the same month last year. This sector has shown an upward trend, contrary to the trend seen over the past three years, due to various factors.
According to this updated report, during June, the state of Chiapas accounted for 3.7% of national beef production.
Similarly, in the national ranking for June, Chiapas ranked third in honey production with an estimated 3,461.70 hives.
In addition, Chiapas showed progress in the national ranking for the month of May, occupying fourth place in corn production, with 125,398 tons, while Sinaloa took first place with a production of 1,477,965 tons.
Finally, these agricultural sector data also reveal that Chiapas ranked second nationally in May in cacao production, with a total of 7,600 tons, behind only Tabasco.
Increase in Products
In five years, the state of Chiapas has shown an increase in the production of agricultural products, highlighting advances in meat and honey. This is expected to reduce the state’s dependence on food imports, thus lowering prices for the benefit of the population.
