In a special operation, 12 video surveillance cameras were removed from various locations in the San Baltazar Tetela district. The equipment was used for criminal activities.
A statement announced that the operation was directed by Mayor José Chedraui Budid and carried out by the Secretariat of Citizen Security (SSC) in coordination with the Secretariat of National Defense, the National Guard (GN), and the State Public Security Secretariat.
The cameras were mounted on public fixtures such as lampposts. They were equipped with at least six different models, all with continuous recording.
Patrols and foot soldiers were deployed to remove them, with the goal of completely dismantling the infrastructure that served criminal groups.
