Two women, ages 59 and 33, were shot to death on the night of September 15 in the Yetla de Juárez agency, in the municipality of Santo Domingo Tonalá. The crime, which occurred in the Mixteca region of Oaxaca, also left an 11-year-old girl injured.
The Oaxaca Prosecutor’s Office reported at noon this Tuesday that it has begun the respective investigations to confirm the events that took the lives of both women.

The state’s ministerial authorities reported that the investigation took place in a place called Barranca Paredón, located on Manuel Paino Street, in Yetla de Juárez.
The body of a 59-year-old woman, Rosa Osvelia R., was found at that location. It was reported that a second victim, 33-year-old Santa Fe P.R., died while being transported to a medical center.
The women shot to death in Santo Domingo Tonalá, Oaxaca, were a mother and daughter.
Information gathered at the scene by municipal authorities indicates that the victims are a mother and daughter, and that the injured minor is the daughter of the 39-year-old woman.
According to initial reports, the deceased women and the injured minor were walking at that location accompanied by another relative at around 10:20 p.m.
The man had an Interpol arrest warrant.
However, as they were passing through the area known as Barranca Paredón, they were shot.
The minor suffered injuries to her lower extremities and required hospitalization.
In this regard, the Oaxaca Prosecutor’s Office reiterated that it has initiated investigations to determine the nature of the incident and locate the perpetrators.
Unofficially, it was reported that the family had participated in the celebrations for the national holidays.
The municipality of Santo Domingo Tonalá, to which Yetla de Juárez belongs, is located in the district of Huajuapan de León, in the Mixteca region of Oaxaca.
