Colombian President Gustavo Petro has asked his Mexican counterpart, Claudia Sheinbaum, to help him locate two Colombian artists who disappeared in his country.
They are Bayron Sánchez Salazar, known as “B King,” and his companion Jorge Herrera.
According to Petro, both “disappeared after a concert in Sonora,” although so far there are no records of any performances or events by the Colombian artists in that state.
The Colombian president stated on social media that “multinational mafias” linked to drug trafficking could be behind the disappearance.
Who is B King?
B King, 31, the ex-partner of DJ Marcela Reyes, was last seen on September 16 in the Polanco area of Mexico City, during a reported concert tour in the country.
Reyes requested through his digital platforms that the Mexican authorities and the Colombian Foreign Ministry intensify the search.
So far, neither the Ministry of Security nor the Mexican Foreign Ministry have issued official information on the disappearance of the artists.
Sonora Prosecutor’s Office Reveals Statement
After Petro requested the Mexican government’s support in locating Sánchez and Herrera, the State Prosecutor’s Office reported that there is no record, complaint, or indication that these individuals have disappeared in the state of Sonora.
They indicated that, to date, there is no information to support the possibility that they came to sing in the state.
Through inter-institutional coordination, it has been established that these individuals were last seen in Mexico City.
The investigation is being led by Mexico City authorities, who have already published search reports for the missing persons.
