A burned vehicle, tire-puncture devices in various locations, and a narco-banner addressed to President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo are the events that occurred during the president’s visit to the state.

On Cesar Sandino Avenue, a pickup truck was set on fire by unknown individuals. They also placed a narco-banner addressed to the president, alleging links between the government and police commanders with criminal groups in the state.

Following the incident, the area was cordoned off by members of the Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection while civil protection personnel extinguished the fire.

On the other hand, the presence of tire-puncture devices on Luis Donaldo Colosio Avenue was later reported by motorists, who reported damage to several vehicles caused by these devices.

The security deployment was concentrated in an area away from the Parque Tabasco warehouses, where the official event led by President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo was taking place.

According to reports, the incident did not interfere with the president’s travel or that of her guests.

What did Sheinbaum announce during her visit?

During her speech, Sheinbaum Pardo announced the creation of a new university and the construction of a chocolate factory, initiatives that were central to her report to state authorities and citizen representatives.

Regarding the chocolate factory, the president emphasized that it is for the greater benefit of small producers.

“And the goal is to grow so that all small cocoa producers in the state can have sufficient earnings to live well; because cocoa is often sold very cheaply and it is not enough to generate well-being, which is the key word of the Fourth Transformation,” Sheinbaum stated.

In addition, she announced the construction of 60,000 homes for low-income people. According to information provided by the president, approximately 71,000 people will benefit.

Regarding infrastructure, the president announced progress on the construction of the Interoceanic Train, the modernization of the Dos Bocas port, the construction of highways, high schools, and hospitals, as well as the construction of Rosario Castellanos University.

She also confirmed that the Olmeca refinery is now operating at 100% capacity.

Finally, the state governor, Javier May, thanked the president for her presence and mentioned the legacy of former President Andrés Manuel López Obrador.

“We know that your administration represents the continuation of the path paved by our countryman, the always beloved President Andrés Manuel López Obrador,” he declared.
