The state government, in coordination with military and federal authorities, announced the establishment of Operation Bases in various communities in Chihuahua with the aim of strengthening public security and implementing actions to ensure the arrest of perpetrators of violence.
The strategy, presented at the State Peacebuilding Roundtable chaired by Governor Maru Campos Galván, includes permanent patrols carried out by corporations from all three levels of government and members of the Mexican Army, operating 24 hours a day.
The bases will be established in Chihuahua City, Ciudad Juárez, Coyame del Sotol, Moris, Guachochi, Guadalupe y Calvo, and Cuauhtémoc, with the aim of ensuring targeted attention and strengthening the security presence at strategic points.
In addition, targeted operations against perpetrators of violence will be implemented, supported by 400 members of the Ministry of National Defense, advanced technology, and inter-institutional coordination.
Governor Campos Galván emphasized the importance of close collaboration between authorities and urged continued efforts to protect the peace and tranquility of the people of Chihuahua.
Among those attending the session were the Secretary General of Government, Santiago De la Peña; Generals Alberto Miguel Rodríguez and Alejandro Gutiérrez, commanders of Military Zones 5 and 42; the State Attorney General, César Jáuregui; the Secretary of Public Security, Gilberto Loya; as well as representatives of the National Guard, the Attorney General’s Office, the Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection, the Ministry of Welfare, and the National Migration Institute.
This measure seeks to strengthen security in Chihuahua, ensure the arrest of perpetrators of violence, and consolidate peace in the state’s communities.
