Applicants from all over Mexico praised the warm people, safety, and organization in the Yucatecan capital for the three-day exam.
Yucatan is consolidating its position as a destination that captivates with its safety, warmth, hospitality, cultural richness, and exquisite cuisine. This was expressed by doctors from all over the country who attended the National Examination for Medical Residency Applicants (Enarm), an event held at the Siglo XXI Convention Center, which brings together 8,600 healthcare professionals in 26 specialties.
From September 23rd to 25th, the Yucatecan capital is the national epicenter of the medical vocation, welcoming thousands of healthcare professionals and their families to take this exam, which brings together nearly 3,000 people per day.
The selection of Yucatán as the host city will not only provide an economic impact of 214 million pesos for the state, but also reaffirms the commitment of the administration led by Governor Joaquín Díaz Mena to provide a welcoming, safe, and memorable experience to those who visit this land steeped in tradition and modernity.
During their stay, the doctors not only experienced a highly relevant academic day, but also enjoyed the hospitality that distinguishes Yucatán: a wide range of restaurants, cultural activities, and lodging options that made their visit a comfortable and pleasant experience.
By holding this type of event, the Government of the Mayan Renaissance not only reaffirms its firm commitment to the well-being and development of Yucatán as a host for high-level meetings, but also positions the state as a favorite both nationally and internationally, thanks to its organizational skills, its hospitality, and the charm that distinguishes this land steeped in history and modernity.
Such is the case of young Hannia Fabiola Herrada Flores, originally from Saltillo, Coahuila, who decided to travel to Yucatán to take the exam, motivated by the state’s distinctive safety.
“There are many places to see. I’m leaving late for the exam today, but tomorrow we plan to see as much as we can before we leave,” she shared enthusiastically, reflecting the interest of visitors in taking advantage of their stay and discovering the charms of this hospitable land.
For his part, Óscar Eduardo Cruz López, originally from Oaxaca, highlighted the warmth of the people of Mérida and said that this has been one of the best locations he’s ever had.
“The truth is, I really appreciate the space, the comfort; and sometimes you come thinking about the exam and other things, and the people, well, very kind, tell you: there are these options, even to visit places, to buy clothes, crafts, some of the things they make here,” he expressed.
Meanwhile, Manuel Antonio Rosique Montoya, originally from the state of Tabasco, shared his positive impressions of the city, highlighting not only the safety of Yucatán, but also the cleanliness of its streets and the efficiency of the Va y Ven public transportation system.
“I’ve never seen them provide a lounge during the exam, and I think that’s really great because there are many people who come from outside, and their parents wait for them until the end of the exam. Last year, I was in Puebla, and there were people who stood outside all night waiting. The promotions at the hotels that kept their prices low are also appreciated, and that’s very important for those of us who come from outside,” he said.
Likewise, Yaritza Martínez Mejía, originally from Zacatecas, expressed her gratitude for the warm hospitality of the Yucatecans and stated that she would be delighted to return soon.
“We barely saw the QR codes because we were focused on the exam, but we’ll review all the information later. There’s a lot of it, and it’s all within easy reach, just by scanning the code. That’s what we saw, and there are several options,” he concluded.
As part of the efforts to provide an enriching experience for ENARM participants, the State Government organized attractive tourist benefits, including a 25% discount on tickets to the Meteorite Museum and the Izamal night show, as well as a 2-for-1 ticket promotion for the El Corchito ecological reserve, valid for up to two entries per participant.
It’s worth noting that Yucatán hosted this event again after 17 years, where the Mayan Renaissance Government guarantees safe transportation, airport and bus station services, discounts at hotels and restaurants, as well as medical services and intensive care ambulances ready for any eventuality.
For the first time in many years, doctors from Yucatán can apply for the Enarm without having to leave the state, which not only reduces economic and logistical barriers but also encourages more medical talent to remain in the region.
